2023第七届中国青年版画展征稿函

在当下，传统的艺术分类方式已经很难完整概括媒介的呈现特征，每种媒介的定义都在不断的被增容。就版画艺术而言，“版画”的概念已经不是传统意义界定中的版画概念，那么选择怎样的新词汇来概括这种具有复数性的二维艺术，成为了一个值得思考的问题。

At present,the traditional ways of artistic classification can hardly summarize the presentation characteristics of media completely.The definition of each medium has been constantly expanded.As for printmaking art,the concept of“printmaking”has no longer been the one that is defined in the traditional sense,for this,to choose a new word to summarize this two-dimensional art with plurality has become a problem worth reflection.

英文中的“Print”即印刷，是版画艺术的核心特征，Print描述的是一种工作过程，是将模版的图像通过印刷的方式来完成最终的作品，从这样的角度来说，是印刷引申出了版画，而当代版画也正向最初的艺术形态回归。这种回归不能看作是倒退，而是一种螺旋式上升。假设如果用“print艺术”来代替“版画艺术”这样的表述时，我们会发现print艺术既有较为明显的界限，又在传统版画的概念上有所扩充。

In English,the word“Print”refers to printing,the core feature of printmaking art.“Print”describes a working process,during which the images of stencils are made into final works through printing.From this perspective,printmaking comes out from printing.In modern times,printmaking is returning to its original artistic form.Such regression should not be regarded as retrogression,but a kind of spiral rise.If we replace the description of“printmaking art”by“print art”,we will find out that print art not only has a distinct boundary,but also expands the concept of traditional printmaking.

从呈现的形式来说，print艺术既包括了传统的版画类型，也包括了一些新兴的技术，如数码版画、电子插画、数字输出方式的摄影、艺术家书、限量出版等等。实际上，给事物以新的概念界定的目的是挖掘媒介更宽泛的可能性，以及更为准确的建立评价体系。

Viewed from the form of presentation,print art not only includes the traditional printmaking types,but also includes some emerging technologies such as digital prints,electronic illustrations,digitally-output photography,artist’s books and limited-edition publications.In fact,to define things in a new way is to explore more possibilities of media and to establish an evaluation system in a more accurate manner.

中国青年版画展开始于2011年，是目前国内最大的青年版画展览平台，而很多前沿问题的思考就是这些年轻艺术家的主要工作，包容更多类型的作品汇集到这样的平台，形成对话交流引申我们的思考，便是我们举办中国青年版画展的目的。

China Youth Prints Exhibition,founded in 2011,is the largest exhibition platform for youths’print works at home.To reflect on those frontier problems is the major work of these young artists.The purpose of holding this Exhibition is to gather more types of works,so as to create dialogues and communications and to trigger reflections.

因此我们确定将第七届中国青年版画展的主题设定为“Print艺术”，未来会以双年展的周期，持续探讨与版画、印刷有关的艺术形态。

Therefore,we decide to take“Print Art”as the theme of the 7th China Youth Prints Exhibition.In the future,we will follow a biennial cycle to continue to explore the artistic forms of printmaking and printing.

Jury committee:Representatives from the art circles,publishing circles,artwork auction field and writer groups will be invited to form a jury committee.The list will be publicized after the review results are confirmed.

首展：2023年11月-12月，深圳中国版画博物馆

巡展：2023年12月-2024年1月，清华大学美术学院美术馆

Print Art/The 7th China Youth Prints Exhibition.During this Exhibition,a total of 99 works from 99 artists will be put on show,which include but are not limited to prints,digital art,artist’s books,printmaking installations and so on.
